Dylan Darnall grew up in Burleson, Texas, and is now a baseball player and junior at the University of Central Oklahoma. He’s studying kinesiology with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.
As a baseball player Dylan shared, “I really like hitting. There’s a lot of failure in baseball, especially in hitting. There’s the bouncing back from that, that’s very rewarding.”
Dylan works as an umpire on the weekends in Edmond to pay for school. “Baseball, school and work is how I balance it all out,” said Dylan.“I was at an athletes meeting where we were told about the TFCU ‘College Cash’ contest and I signed up.”
When he found out he was one of five $5,000 winners he said, “I didn’t think it was real…The winnings will help me to pay for school. I don’t have to work as much – it takes the pressure off. And I have more time to study and spend time with my family on break.”
Students attending Oklahoma colleges, universities and technical schools are encouraged to enter the TFCU “College Cash” contest in August and early September. Five lucky students each win $5,000 to use toward school, living and other expenses.
