On Memorial Day in 2022, TFCU sponsored an event hosted by The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Air & Space Forces Association, Gerrity Chapter. The Top Gun: Maverick premier event celebrated the 60th anniversary of the TACAMO Navy sailors contingent and their 30th year in Oklahoma at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB). Many don’t know there is a small unit of approximately 1,500 “Red Dirt Sailors” based at Tinker AFB who have an air mission. To help celebrate and bring awareness to their important mission, an invitation was extended to active-duty, guard, reserve and veteran military members and their families to attend a premiere private screening of Top Gun: Maverick at the IMAX theater at the Regal Warren in Moore. TFCU was happy to be part of the fun and show appreciation for Oklahoma military members by buying out the theater and covering the ticket cost for nearly 600 attendees. Six TFCU employee volunteers from the Moore and Tinker AFB branches were also able to provide giveaway items and door prizes as a thank-you to our military members.
