David Osborn nominated his 19-year-old son Justin Osborn for TFCU’s “Thankful for You” contest.
“I’m 70 years old and life would have been twice as tough for me without his caring and support,” David said. “I bless my stars everyday and thank God for blessing me with him.”
Originally from England, David moved to Norman, Oklahoma, after decades of working around the world in production and tour management for legendary bands and musicians – including Jimmy Cliff, Van Halen and the Rolling Stones.
“We actually call my Justin by his middle name ‘Dylan,’ after Bob Dylan, because I love music so much,” David said.
But when a medical issue left David disabled, Justin became his biggest support system.
“He’s kept my spirits up,” David said about his son’s help during his recovery and physical therapy to re-learn to talk and walk.
Justin’s support has continued into everyday life, whether helping his dad pay bills or driving him to get groceries.
“I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him,” David said.
We asked Justin how he felt about his dad nominating him for TFCU’s “Thankful for You” contest.
“When I was little he sacrificed everything for me, so why not give it back to him? Now it’s my time to step in and help him out,” he said.
