OKLAHOMA CITY – Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has announced the retirement of its EVP/Chief Financial Officer, Billie Houston, who dedicated 35 years of service to TFCU.
Houston began her career at TFCU in 1986 as a financial analyst. She was promoted to the role of controller before becoming EVP/Chief Financial Officer.
Houston holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting with a double minor in finance and business administration from Southwestern University in Weatherford, OK. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
“A credit union is a great place to work where the members come first,” said Houston. “Outside of the not-for-profit world, it is all about the bottom line and that never seemed like much fun to me. Of course, the accounting is important because without sound financial practices, no institution will last long. I hope, in various small ways, that I made a difference for the membership and my co-workers over the years. I know the credit union is in good hands, and I wish everyone the best.”
“We’re thankful for Billie and the 35 years of knowledge and expertise that she devoted to TFCU,” said Michael Kloiber, TFCU president/CEO. “As a member of the Executive Management Team, she has been a very important part of the credit union’s growth and success over these years. She will be missed by many, and it is my wish that she enjoys her retirement to the fullest.”
TFCU is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with $5 billion in assets and over 419,000 members.
