TFCU recently named Oklahoma Baptist University senior Kyle Daughabaugh a 2020 scholarship winner. “When I received the call, I was shocked and excited!” said Kyle. “I’ll probably use the money for tuition and housing—it’s expensive.”
With a major in communications studies and minor in graphic design, Kyle’s dream is to go into social media marketing after college. “I am in athletic communications and do audio visual for OBU—running sound boards and cameras for chapel, events, concerts or any sporting events on campus,” said Kyle.
Originally from Burlison, TX, Kyle’s involvement in the Bison Glee Club Men’s Chorus has taken him on trips around the country—at least in non-pandemic years. “We usually tour all over,” said Kyle. “This year we’re doing recordings for social media and live streaming concerts, and as vice president of the council, I help make sure performances are safe.”
“We’re impressed with Kyle’s leadership and involvement on campus,” said Nancy Ward, TFCU vp/marketing director. “Plus, his drive to gain work experience in his major is impressive.”
More than three thousand Oklahoma students entered to win TFCU’s Back to College scholarship contest in 2020. A total of three winners were randomly drawn with each receiving $3,000. As a not-for-profit credit union, this scholarship program is just one way TFCU gives back to the communities it serves.
