OKLAHOMA CITY – Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has named Renee Jones vice president of professional development, the department responsible for employee and leadership training at TFCU. She was promoted to fill the position left vacant as her predecessor, Chris Henkel, prepares for retirement at the end of July after 15 years of service.
Jones has worked for TFCU since 1995, and joined the professional development department when it was formed in 2001. She was assistant manager before this promotion, working closely with Henkel over the years.
“At an individual level, Chris has been a professional role model and mentor to each of us in the department and to many past and present employees,” Jones said. “She identifies strengths and talents in those around her and offers encouragement and support for their growth. I hope to have the same positive impact in the career development of TFCU employees.”
Jones said she is looking forward to supporting TFCU’s ongoing employee training needs and helping to develop the curriculum for the credit union’s new leadership development initiative.
“One of the biggest challenges in the years ahead revolves around the increasing pace of change in the financial services industry,” Jones said. “Professional development must be ready with innovative programs and resources that ensure skills and knowledge are transferred to our next generation of leaders.”
