TFCU took a proactive approach to reduce fraud by creating an awareness workshop and offering it to the areas surrounding our branches. In 2024, we offered nine workshops in and around the Oklahoma metro area. The interest in the topic, combined with the strategic development of these workshops, made them well attended.
The traveling workshops were held in person, led by a financial educator from TFCU’s financial empowerment department and were well-attended and very informative. The fraud awareness workshops covered the most common scams in our state. In addition, attendees met a TFCU fraud investigator. This fraud expert helped to answer hard questions and told actual fraud stories throughout the workshops to make the lessons come to life.
