Elijah Bailey has been practicing martial arts for 22 of his 25 young years. He serves as an instructor at Unified Martial Arts training center in Edmond, where he’s been for 15 years. And he’s been a member of Tinker Federal Credit Union since middle school. Elijah is committed in all aspects of his life, from his martial arts career to his financial institution.
While holding three martial arts summer camps and teaching two to three private lessons every day, Elijah somehow finds time to maintain a job at UPS. He exemplifies dedication and discipline, traits that he instills in each of his young students.
“There’s no disrespect, and everyone is well behaved. We don’t just teach kicks and punches here, we teach them principles of honesty, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit,” says Elijah.
Elijah provides different rates based on financial needs, so no one is turned away. He will instruct anyone who is willing to train.
“We believe that if you line up your martial arts goals and your business goals, the numbers will work out. It just takes time, and you have to be patient,” Elijah says.
Elijah’s patience is constantly paying off, as his pupils learn and grow. He has watched his students transform, and built a strong relationship with each one.
“We’re a family first and foremost. If they ever need anything, they can call me. I invest in them. We’re focused on building those brotherships, sisterships and friendships.”
Tinker Federal Credit Union is a member of this tight-knit family as well. TFCU handles all of Elijah’s accounts. With TFCU there every kick, punch and step of the way, Elijah is able to cater to the needs of his students and manage his personal finances.
“When I have an issue, I’m always greeted with a smile. They make sure I’m comfortable, and handle my problem. They’re friendly and they’re honest. It is a blessing not to have any troubles with my finances. It helps me with school and with martial arts. Everything goes smoothly.”
